LET ME KISS YOU
-you don’t always love every bit of what you say you love. His tone was romantic but in a way intense. His movements were kind of awkward but I think they went with the song because he is kind of an awkward situation. I think what he is implying is that we try to believe that our love is one thing but when we actually open our eyes and see, we find that it is something far different. It may even be something that we can’t stand to be around.

SUBDIVISIONS
I really felt like I could connect with this song. The tone of it was a little strange but the words are how I would describe society. Growing up is sort of one-sided for a developing teenager and young adult. It is very confusing to feel like you have to try and fit into one group or the other or you will be a loner. Its scary to be a loner so many time people pretend to be what they are not. Subdivisions are everywhere in schools, malls, bars, etc. We all strive to be a part of it somehow or another. I really enjoyed the way this song was written. I enjoyed the wording.

CASABLANCA
The scene of this piece was very romantic and kind of cliche for the time period, the drive in the woods, the champagne, the dancing. The intersting part was that you come to find that they really don’t know eachother that well. And even though they do not know eachother they still share a passion for one another.

LITTLE CHILDREN

I saw this trailer as a refusal to accept the lief of unhappiness. One can only put up with it for so long. The man is this movie is happy, but he really doesnt discover this until he meets someone who makes him really happy. Only now, he seems afraid of making his ex unhappy so he must choose. Some people just live a life to make the other person happy but eventually that unhappiness will lead to unruliness.

AMERICAN BEAUTY

It begins as a steriotypical suburbia looking like perfection but then we find that it isn’t that at all. There is always something out of the ordinary. In this case it is a person who is a little different and those in her life are trying to make her something she is not. But there is always going to be that one person who can find the beauty within and realize that true beauty is more than meets the eye. This is kind of the story that has never been told.

SUNSET BLVD

The older woman is determined, while the man is hesitant. Shei s very controlling and seductive. She lied about the guests to get him to come but in the end he leaves telling her that he isnt who she wants. She wants him to be something he is not. He feels that he needs to go off and find himself. He needs to be some pleace where he fits in. He wants to find a different perspective.
